Then protest music vs Now protest music

Bob Dylan -The times they are a changin, the meaning of this song is saying Get ready and be prepared for change. A change is coming whether you like  it or not. It's like saying tomorrow will be here whether you are ready for it to come or not. When we die, time moves on,and the world keeps turning. The style of Bob Dylan's music is more than mumbling words off key, it's a style of singing that Bob Dylan chose to use on purpose.

John Mayer- Waiting on the world to change, The meaning of the song is He is against the war in Iraq, however, the song  is warning us not to always be so fast to accept  what the media says about the war and government and all the negativity in it. It's about people who know that the government is wrong, and the war is wrong, and want to help people, but feel helpless because we can't talk as loud as the media and all the money. We want to help change the world but we don't know how, so "we keep on waiting on the world to change".

John Mayer and Bob Dylan are very similar when it comes to protest politically they use their music to get their messages across. Even though Dylan prefers more of a talking/singing type of music while Mayer has more of a rhythm and blues feeling to his music.
